Overall happy with product, great support!

The app is very user friendly. However it is not perfect and I have experienced a few bugs and issues. Having said that, this is where I appreciate the technical support that I have received. While you worked on fixing the problem, you also gave me alternatives and workarounds to address the problem which was very helpful. I found the support team efficient, effective, helpful, professional and prompt. No product is perfect but when you have a good support team , it makes a huge difference to your overall experience of the product. Well done team! I truly appreciate your assistance in resolving the problems that I have encountered.

Add to Calendar

Update: Boom Tech reviewed the issue and identified a formatting problem that was causing issues, especially on iOS. This could mean the file might not be read correctly, or it might not be imported. I’m happy to say that their response was quick and effective, so I’ve adjusted my assessment now that it has been resolved. Initial post: It is incredibly disappointing that the “Add to Calendar” feature is not functioning correctly. This is particularly frustrating, given the app's premium cost. I am keen to know what measures are being taken to rectify this problem.

Missing features

It's a good app, and I've been using it for a number of years now. Does what it's supposed to. However the newest feature where people can subscribe to get updates when new events are added feels rushed and half baked. You can't change the email that's sent to subscribers, and unfortunately the standard email is very basic and even looks like spam to the end user. It also has no mention of the website sending it looks like a random email with incomplete information. "Go To Calendar" button in the email just sends to the homepage instead of the calendar page as well. All in all still needs some work but I hope this will be added soon.

Great support staff!

I really appreciate how quickly the support team responds to my questions, whether it be a small bug on their end they need to fix or something I have to do myself outside the app; they always respond to issues so quickly. There are a few quirks to the calendar that I think could be changed to make it better, but in the end, it does its job really well. Our organization has shared the calendar with our community and we've heard positive reviews. We are excited to keep exploring the calendar and finding new ways to make it engaging for them!

The support has been excellent and I have had my questions answered promptly and clearly! I wish that I could have more than 10 events for the free version, but for the most part, this app fits my needs nicely and I appreciate the support.

The App is user friendly - but not very customizable

Setting up an event is super easy - and can be done very quickly. Unfortunately, if you have an outside registration app, like setting up a Zoom or Teams meeting, you can't "sell tickets". The landing page that the app has doesn't have a ton of customization, but all in all, it is still the best app that WIX offers for this.

Overall Great, But Could Use a Few Changes

I wish the "end time" for an event could be left open-ended. I would like to dictate a "start time" but don't want to limit ourselves to a specific end-time in case events are ongoing for the day. Right now, we can only guess what time the event ends and include that, or claim the event is "all day." We would also like to be able to click on the event photo and it links to the event page like the title does!

Works well but the knowledge base support is limited

I had what is probably a very common issue syncing my google calendar and it wasn’t covered in the knowledge base support database.

Good Support but Lacking Customizability

The support team is helpful and even added a feature for me, but overall they lack the ability to customize. Overall it is a good tool and the team wants to help. I have tried all of the tools available for Wix and this does seem like the best one for a calendar. If you just want a calendar, this will do the job great for you. If you want to be able to fully customize the whole calendar, this might not be the perfect app for you. It is still better than all of the other calendar apps by far.

Very good app, easy to implement and customize

Excellent support from the Boomtech team, very responsive and customer focussed. Little "bugs" and deficits are quickly resolved. Boomtech does understand the needs and doing their best to realize them. Several calender views possible - and I think it is the only app on the Wix market that integrates classes, courses and events in one calendar (plus additional interfaces possible)

A great little calendar app

I'm really liking the use of this calendar so far. It plugs into the site pretty easily and is easy to populate with events. A few minor things for the team to consider: it does have a delay when loading onto the site, it would be good it you could designate 20 or so emails to be able to add events (as opposed to it being fully public or not at all), it would be good to be able to charge for those events as they get posted, and finally it would be nice to enable whoever submitted the event to be able to come back and edit it afterwards but still requiring approval before going live.

Great customer service

Whenever I get really stuck, help is always available. There are many elements one can add to the calendar. I'm about to upgrade from free to a paid subscription and hoping it is a lot smoother to use!

BoomTech Calendar and Wix

First of all, let me say that the BoomTech Calendar response team is great. I have had some small issues or questions, especially when starting a new calendar, but the Boomtech folks always ‘have your back,’ and are very responsive (and patient). I use the calendar on Wix, and find the process just a bit confusing because you can update the calendar from the initial (Home) web page, but to make design changes you need to be on the web page where the calendar resides (the Edit page). One improvement I would like is that holidays could be easily shown. (Google Calendar has that feature.) It also takes a long time for the calendar to load on the live web, at least on my system. Other than this, I really like the product, and appreciate the whole BoomTech team.

Nicely designed app. Good support when you have problems with setup. Good features and flexible in it's use, will suit most users. Well done.

Good calendar solution AND great support!

Possible to do anything but not easy.

One time my new events did not show. On a second attempt a weekly event showed up daily. On a third event one of 11 did not show. It would have been nice to have a message pop up when I tried to exceed the allowed message count on the free version. In a later session the repeating event did not work but one can put them in individually and there are hand tools to duplicate and adjust the date.

It is almost exactly what I want.

The app has almost everything that I'm looking for. The design capabilities are not quite what I want, but I can make it work. Raisa, the person I chatted with, was excellent!

Mostly nice with need for some improvements

After time with this app using the Outlook integration, and feedback from the developer, I customized a calendar mostly to my satisfaction. I found calendar text in month, week, and daily views difficult to customize. But using color categories in Outlook, and Outlook's bold color mode, makes the calendar look nice. Nice surprise that color categories synch! But there is lack of customizability for mobile. It is not possible to select different views for desktop and mobile. A workaround to avoid text stacking on mobile is "Hide Hrs in Wkly/Daily View". The biggest issue is loading speed: 26 seconds compared with the Google's Wix calendar integration which loads unlimited, recurring events in 10 seconds max. Cutting recurring events from unlimited to a year shaved off 6 seconds of speed. But it creates an admin issue of constant Outlook updates. Hoping for improvements.

Really Positive Experience Overall

Update: Needed support with calendar feature and customer service was fast and helpful. I do wish the app would let me have more than one filter option for each event. Pros: I use this app to post community events. There are usually 6-7 each day, and I love the different views, especially the detailed view. The layout is clean and professional. Cons: After a month of using, I have had 2 incidents of minor glitches. The customer service team was highly responsive both times and fixed it within an hour. Also, the agenda view seems to struggle with having dates in order, particularly when I post an event that last several days. Hopefully future updates will fix this.

Love it - already does most of what we want - read review

The support team are amazing - we have been looking at a fix for a functionality request and they have understood our needs, and bounced ideas around looking for a solution. A joy to talk to a company with professionals available to talk to. AWESOME. I await the feature enhancements.

Very useful for our needs

The app is the most useful one we have found for our needs. Not perfect, but does lots of things well. The customer service has been very impressive. Quick honest answers, about as much as you could want.

J'utilise le calendrier sur un site WIX. Les débuts ont été un peu difficiles. Pas mal d'ajustements à faire. Peut-être parce que c'est la version française. L'assistance technique est au top, très réactive et résout les problèmes plutôt rapidement.

A Fantastic App held back by its cash-grab

I hate to be *that* guy, really I do. but when building a website for a Model Railroad Club, the budget for website add-ons is... well there isn't one. I don't mind spending money to support something that is good, and this App is one of the best things on WIX. But If I am going to pay for a piece of software I want to just pay for it and be done, not feel like a cow getting milked. (Microsoft Office...) The Bad News is that the Free Version stops just short of being totally useful on its own. Only showing 7 events at one time is a bit too tight when I am trying to list weekly Open Houses, Meetings, and trips, but what it will show, the calendar is clean, the events easy to set up and informative, and what I really love is the "Agenda View" which lays every event out in an easy to read list. The options for adding from external sources are phenomenal and make me want to try to do more with it than I set out for. I would like to see an option that could translate a table into events

Just what I was looking for.... plus excellent customer service!

A really good app so far, was just what I was looking for! I could change the design/layout to show just 1 month of events, as I didn't have many events across the year to add. Has a nice clean, professional look, which is what I was after. You can include links, documents and photo into the event description, which makes it ideal for my business. You can share the event to social media sites. I used the Customer Service messenger option to ask a few questions, and Liza was very quick to reply and was able to resolve my questions, clear and concisely. (Was just a few questions on getting used to the app really!) As I am using the free version of the app, my only small point is that the 7 event limit includes past events as well as upcoming events. It would be even better if you could add up to 7 upcoming events and keep any previous/old events on the calender too. Having said that I can work round this with the old events and so this free version is perfect so far for my business!

Not free to add google calendar to it.

As soon as I added this calendar, the google sync option sad, that i reached my free limit, so actually syncing with google, is only with the payep option. Otherwise did not used it at all. Just wanted a simpe option to add google, but now I embedded it, simpe and free.

Not what i expected, but good

The app is very nice and useful as a calendar, but i bought a starter plan thinking i could use it for bookings. You must upgrade to businness your wix plan to get that option. My fault, anyway.

Pricing Plans

What happens on the starter plan when 1000 events is reached? Is that per year or a flat number? Are you then required to upgrade the plan?

Tech support is very responsive and resolved my issues fast and satisfactory. Milena especially is top notch in customer service. A WIX Partner recommended Boom after talking to other techs, so I think this is a good, affordable application.

I really like this application, it is easy to use and quite versatile. The only thing I would really appreciate is if it could directly link to the wix booking application. Actually I think Wix Booking should have a calendar like this already attached to it. It really surprised me that it was not included.

App Works Well Overall

Love the app, have used for over a year BUT when they keep changing the format to update the look, it changes the function. After several changes throughout the year, I have come to realize they are very helpful when you email them about the changes being a negative. They have put back the old style on my app so the image can be zoomed in and out of. Much better now, hopefully that function will remain.

Mobile version didn't work, but they fixed it!

When I started, the mobile version looked fine, but after an update it no longer fit what I was trying to do with the app. They responded very quickly to my review and reverted the app back to it's previous version in my account. Very much appreciated.

Ok, but can't go back to free version

It is pretty good for a calendar app, kind of confusing. It worked well, but now I want to go back to the free version, but I can't figure out how to.

Come a long way

This App has gotten pretty decent. I'd love to see the option to add multiple pictures for each event. Some layouts use a banner shape others use a square, so formatting a picture to meet the variation in the layout is almost impossible.

Very Good App, enhance it more Please!

Very good, could be even better. 1. Need to add feature that allows repeating events for "every X-Day of a Month". ie- every 3rd Tuesday of a Month. 2. MOST NEEDED- Manage & Sync should not be on the actual Page. I don't want other users messing with Pages. Create a way to Add/Manage/Del calendar items from the Wix Dashboard. 3. Modern Agenda format has a weird color background for the Date card image. Switched to the other format because of this. #2 is primarily why I only give this app 4 stars. Would love to see this App further enhanced!

Having issues on iOS mobile displaying an event.

Great calendar, however I am having an issue with one event out of the plethora I have added to my site. I'm not sure if whether or not this is just a glitch, but would like to bring it to the developers attention. The event shows on all android devices and PC, however does not display on any apple devices. It's weird because it is just one event that I am having issues with. Thank you for any response.

Responsive Customer Support

There have been a few glitches needing to be ironed out but Customer Support is prompt and really helpful. A couple of features needed tweaks and they were done really quickly. Customer support have promised to look into improved features going forward too re: repeat events and so am pleased with the service. It is a bit clunky to use in the back end but it looks good, with good information for users at the front end. Much better than other calendars I've tried to use.

BoomTech is Great, and so is this App

I actually want to give it 4.5 stars. It's a great app that looks great and is easy to use. The available views are exactly what we need, and configuration options are tremendous. (Oh, and the tech support is as good as everyone says it is.) Here's my half-star request: in agenda view, rather than a "more" tab which then throws off the website strip size when clicked, what about a simple scroll bar? That way the size of the app is always exactly what I want. Thanks a bunch!
