permissions set for anyone to use without sign in, however when folder or file is clicked on it asked for user to sign up.... not favorable... also no button for download or upload.. bummer

It doesn’t work, it doesn’t publish on my website.

I installed the app, uploaded my files, and no matter how much I try, it doesn’t appear on the final website. When I reload the editor page, the app gets deleted.

Not suitable for public file share

We can set authorisations to unlogged visitors to access the files, but in reality, that does not work. Usefull to host files for your site members only.

It does not really integrate into the standard Wix experience

Great in Theory

It looked great until I had everything uploaded and sent my students to find the files. They can't open them without having to sign up for an account. What the heck? Every permission I can find says any site visitor, yet it still won't work.

It kept resetting back to allowing any member to upload files. When I would change it to admin only in the editor it would default back.

Need ability to add File Share to member page

Would give this 5 stars but I need the ability to add the File Share to a member page, not a normal page. This would allow site admins to share files exclusively with a specific member. It would also allow members to have a member only page called "Member Files". The add-ons for File Share only allow adding to normal pages.

Like the concept but broken

After trying to adjust the library permission page and save my changes, the application "looks like" it saved but if you go back into the settings page again, the charges were not applied. Can this please be addressed?

Not safe enough

Please add "only view" option. We need to ensure our PDFs will not be copy pasted and of course not downloaded. I will suscribe premium as soon as you add this option. As so far I will not use it for the moment.

Not customizable enough, and there are display issues on editor x

The functionality on the back end is decent. But in terms of designing/customizing on the Editor X side it's lacking and there are also random issues. Like text/titles being cut off, etc. Could really use an overhaul but there's very little/slow progress on the Editor X side of things.

It’s ok but requires additional functionality.

It would be good if it were possible to fully customise the app, e.g. remove the upload function so members can only download items. Also would be good to hide files and folders from the File-Share view so only the content the admin wishes users to see can be configured accordingly.

Fotos müssen einzeln geöffnet werden

Fotos müssen zum Anschauen einzeln angeklickt werden und zum Schliessen muss jeden Reiter im Browser wieder einzeln geschlossen werden, im Ordner können die Fotos nicht geblättert werden => macht kein Spass die Fotos anzuschauen. Es können keine Ordner kopiert werden, müssen alle erstellt werden, bei vielen Ordner sehr umständlich. Schade, sonst wäre das Programm sehr gut. Freundliche Grüsse Reto Siegenthaler

On going backend issues

I left WordPress because of 3rd party plugin issues, and now I'm having similar issues with File Share. I repeatedly get an error message saying, "We ran into a technical issue." my files are not loading on the backend, and I cannot edit or retrieve them from the backend.

Permission View Filter

It would be ideal if only the folders that the member has permission to see are the only ones that show up from them to select. There is no need for them to see that there are other folders in the system when they cant access them.

Users need a subscription ?

I want to set up file share app so users just need the page login password and not have to sign up for a subscription. How do I do that ?

I really want to let site visitors download files but, despite setting that permission on the folder, they are prompted to sign up as site members.

Obvious this hasnt been really been roadtested by anyone 1) List of files doesnt load fully, we have lots of song files A-Z, only A to F load then you have to wai..............................t, you get files up to H...wait....................... then T ..........wait - quite frustrating 2) Search - tiny indistinct magnifying glass - PUT A BOX ROUND IT!!! 3) MOVING BETWEEN folder levels is very difficult - MAKE the TEXT bigger !!!

I was building a GitHub alternative, and I was getting ready to test out this app, when I found out that ONLY some file types are supported, and that is not suitable at all for a GitHub alternative, because no one can actually upload any programming language scripts!

it is a basic app but the main problem is that is seems to be impossible do remove files that are uploaded!

Should be great to be more performant and available in mobile APP

It should be Great to have more performance for this. I have created a librairy using more than 120 PDFs and it takes a lot of time to be ready to use in the website. Also, it would be great to have this component available in application Wix Space ;)

Why arent .MP4 .FLV or .AVI supported

Tried to upload some video files using this and cant get anywhere, it is saying all of these formats are not supported

Não tem muita opção, acho q deve melhorar e muito para ser utilizado de forma correta, deveria dar opções de criar esses arquivos em separação com cada pagina pra poder ter mais usabilidade, poder colocar versões e mais.

Fazer upload privado para membro

Eu gostaria, como administrador, fazer upload de arquivo para um membro visualizar. Apenas o administrador pode adicionar arquivo para todos ou o membro pode fazer upload dos seus arquivos. Precisava dessa modalidade para manter a privacidade dos documentos de cada membro

For be a free app, have some of the main funcions tha I need. But I want to change the titles on head: where I can find the way to change It? Can I add more columns? Each one is a star more!

Glitchy

Some of the uploaded files become glitched and are unable to be removed. Also, Google Chrome blocks the download of my word documents and ppts because it is flagged as malware. I would appreciate some support from the file team on this issue

Move and delete files

How can I move into a folder or delete a file, as member?

I feel uneasy about this app.

One, if somebody posts malware, you can't tell, because they can go to the forums and say its a cool background or something else and get malware from some scammer. I use to have this but I deleted it because I just felt to uneasy.

As I write this the file share app is down across all of our sites. It came back online as I was nearing the end of this post but it had been offline long enough for one of our clients to complain. I should have known better than to rely on a Wix app to underpin an important feature our clients rely on because this flakiness did show up in my initial testing but we had little choice as we had to rapidly respond to the Covid-19 lockdown. The permission system seems temperamental. Giving user accounts access sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Sometimes users with access lose it with no action on our part. This seems to be a problem with other Wix apps, the new blog being the other main example. With the blog these issues only show up on the live site - in the Wix backend these accounts have no trouble. Since there is no Wix backend for the file share app, these problems prevent users from uploading completely. Sometimes deleting accounts and recreating them with the exact same permissions solves the problem. Go figure. We have found many of our users cannot download files in Chrome because they get falsely flagged as possible malware. These are usually simple PDFs with no active content. Maybe the blame for this is at the feet of Google, but actually if you click the three dots to download rather than the name of the file (as most end users would) the download completes just fine. We cannot be the only ones this happens to (as we are using this app across dozens of domains/clients). You would expect Wix to be on top of it. A more minor issue is that the documentation (scattered across many pages as it is) on file size is inconsistent and contradictory. We're also signposted to the file share app to share larger file sizes than elsewhere on Wix when in fact for videos you're permitted 1/30th of the file size allowed in Wix Video. It's quite annoying that you are unable to upload links or shortcut files. I get that it's a file sharing app but when the file size limit for video is 500 MB it's not like you can host modern video files either. You could use this app if you have a few files and folders that need to be more or less available. If you have a lot of members, a lot of files and a constant need for them to be reliably available, this app just isn't good enough.

Not enough features

I Love this but I have 3 problems. 1. I can't share .stl files. 2. I would like to click on the file then it opens for more details. 3. I cant customize the look. I would be really happy if those where added and if anything is my fault I would like to know.
