Needs More Files Format

The Wix File Share File needs to accept more files formats like .tiff, .pages, .curve, etc..

Great feature but...

Having moved over from EditorX, chat support has confirmed the multi-file (or folder) selection and download is not currently available in the current WixStudio version so we would love feature parity to be restored. Outside that the app does a great job of serving files to our users.

More Customising..

Nice app but could be better if there was a little more custom features like layouts and adding images to files with descriptions. Also non members being able to view files but unable to download as this would increase signups. In my view this would make a 5 star app if added.

Need bigger uploads.

500mb uploads for files is too small. Need a much bigger limit.

La app es buena e intuitiva, pero el almacenamiento no lo ayuda, además sería bueno que que tuvieran vista previa o mejor dicho, que se le agregue una imagen para vista previa.

Very Nice and Good app

I tried all available things to share files, I find this app from Wix is so powerful and nice appearance, easy files maintenance/organization... Just would like from the team to add in the configuration settings a new feature to "add new column" with different type ex.: like "description" text type (other than the title"), lilnk etc. Also be able to enable/disable the "download" / "Share" features.. Thank you !

Needs versioning

Useful app, but it would be nice to upload new versions of a file such that the new upload replaces the old file automatically, and maintains a version history.

Good but a bit limited

The app itself is good and does exactly what you would expect. It allows users to upload, download and view files. The only issue is that you can only either allow people to upload or not globally and there is only one global view of the files. So if you want some people to have access to only some of the files, then tough. They can navigate up to the root and back down any path they choose. But other than that, it pretty much does what I need. If you mix it with the Google Drive app for read only areas, then it works well enough for me.

Count number of downloads?

Is it possible to see the number of downloads somewhere in a log?

I like the app but....

Would like to be able to limit what folders a member sees when entering the File Share (Document) area. Currently, to enter the Document area, at minimum, all members must have view access so they see all first level folders. Also, when clicking on on a folder which you don't have access, I would like to be able to change the message that members see. Currently it says you don't have access but to request access click here. I would like to eliminate the request access ability but rather have a message that says you do not have access, period. Also, page is extremely slow to load on the live site. Site visitors will think it does not work.

Functional and Very Easy to Use. Here's a suggestion!

I run a digital business and wish for the files app to open the file onto the website instead of simply downloading. This way I can effectively sell the products held within the files without worry about where they are going. I remember at some point a long time ago back when Wix operated on Flash there was a file app that could open the file onto the website. It was clunky and not enjoyable but it was just that functional. So I know it is possible!

Almost There

Add show folders only for those with permissions. Users should not see there are folders or files for other users. Work around for now is adding the Files app, but hide the "File Share" page. Let admin only make folders for each client and set only specific people to each folder. Add upload option directly on My Account | Files. IE, since that is where users see files they have access t, they should be able to upload as well as download directly from there. Alternative is add "Go To Library" button to bring them to there private folder.

Making life somewhat easier!

The build tools are not intuitive, but the overall application is a very nice. When I finish creating my web page it looks stellar. I only wish I could figure out how to delete and add from the template without so much hesitancy and so many confusing clicks.

Easy to use

It's easy to use and handy to have, but it would be better if you could see image thumbnails so you know what you are looking at before opening the file, since ours is mostly photos. Currently you have to open every file to know what it is. I have voted for the feature, I hope it comes soon! :)

good but cant seem to make multiple file share for different purpose

i like it but coudl you guys allow creation of multiple file share? I have one for members, but I would like to create one for another group of people.

Non-members still see the files

The tool is pretty easy to use and provide basic file sharing needs. However, why non-members can see the folder and files though they don't have permission to view and download them? Could you please fix this? It would be good to have kind of thumnails for photos or files to recognize them. Thank you ver much! Gelek Spas!

Nice free app but it would be great if more features were available

This is a nice free app that gets the job done for file sharing. It would be great if there was a way that the items could be viewed as tiles or had some sort of preview option). Also to be more accessible, there should be the text "search" or "find" next to the search box. I'm trying to make my site as accessible as possible, but I don't know how to fix this part to have the text "search" for screen reading software.

Please open it up to allow other files than the standards (pdf. aso.) uploaded.

Unfortunately it only allows you to share standard files (.pdf, .jpeg, aso.) Donut understand why they don't open it up for other files as well

Very useful but could be better

It's great to be able to upload onto the file share and share with my viewers. Works well. Request for ability to link from blog page to a particular file so my viewers don't have to search through them. Also really looking forward to having the ability to have different permissions for each file (any update on this?) Thank you.

Site Visitor cannot see the file un less downloding it on my sitte.

Adding files, managing and downloading is ok. But Site Visitor cannot see the file un less downloding it on my sitte. How Can a visitor decide whether to download the file or not without viewing it? Please give me a solution. Thanx in Advance.

Can NOT log in to add the file

Just added this app to web site and its all is cool, but: Can only add files from preview in constructor mode, When opening published site, trying to log in it looks like it logined but then pushing add file or folder and becomes screen with log in again. In all settings its that everybody can add files and make folders. How to fix that problem?

Very useful app!

I use this app and find it very useful. The only thing I don't like is not being able to limit the type of files that people upload. I would like to limit the file types to images or PDF only, but there is no way to do this. Otherwise works great!

Download problem fixed, just need permissions by folder

I just started having this problem. Suddenly, I can't download files using Chrome. I get a message that Chrome has blocked the download because the file is dangerous. Any file! Other browsers flag the download as potentially dangerous but allow me to proceed. This just started! A big problem! Also, you can't set permissions by folder. A serious limitation. . Update 5/6/20: Wix fixed the problem with the downloads being blocked. By my calculation it took about a month, but at least it is fixed. Other than the issue of not being able to set permissions by folder, which they planning to add in the future, this is a useful app that delivers what it promises: a simple, easy to use method of storing and sharing files..

Files now showing

I closed out and came back in and now the file share is showing. It's actually a pretty good app.

Olá. Ao criar este arquivo (guiões de livros para uma biblioteca escolar) coloquei-os por ordem alfabética, para facilitar a procura. Agora que voltei ao site, os arquivos estão todos desordenados e não consigo colocá-los por ordem alfabética. Como posso fazê-lo? Obrigada e Parabéns! Maria, Portugal

File upload and view

Its a good preset but I need all these facilities in admin view. For user view - Find and display the file. If you have something like that then plz help me for my project work

Looks and Feels Great!

This is an easy to use and fairly intuitive app! If I were to make a suggestion I would say a Visual preview of Files, as opposed just a File folder image, would make this a Five Star Experience. Well done.

Just what I needed

One glitch I noticed, unless it is user error. I cannot see the breadcrumbs when using subfolders. Examples: Root Directory/subfolder.. Root Directory appears to disappear when you navigate to the subfolder. Users cannot see the root and therefore struggle to move up one folder.

You can not click "Apply" when choosing that all users can create folders. Please fix settings applications

Quite handy!

Very useful for sharing files, but my biggest gripe is that you can't change the default "Sort by" option, which defaults to "Upload Date". It would be great to be able to change this default, as sorting by "Name" is far more convenient for how I use this app (as opposed to "Upload Date"). Otherwise, a very good app aside from an occasional bug where the app re-sizes itself (not entirely sure what triggers that), and that file names get shortened if they are too long (which I think could use extending).

Description and Image with each file would be great!

As Andre suggests in a separate comment, It would be nice if we could add a little description-text for each file we upload". I would like to add that it would be great if along with the description, we could add an image as sometimes an image is worth a thousand words. I managed to add a box to the page next to the file with and image and text but if you search or sort, the descriptions and images all get out of sequence. Thanks so much! This is a great app with many potential uses. Jim
