    Doesn't work

    It stopped blocking countries for about 3 days. Now I continually get visits from countries I've blocked. Waste of money.

    Bug

    Dear team, My “Blocky: IP & Country Blocker” is no longer blocking any countries. The same problem has occurred before. The chat support team asked me to add Pakistan for testing, and it was not blocked, confirming that there is an error. Please fix this as soon as possible. Last month, the same issue happened and I was informed that it was a common Wix bug.

    Wanted to block one country, can't with free plan

    It said with the free plan you could block three countries, and when I tried to block one it was a "premium" country so I couldn't even use the app.

    Free Plan is not as advertised

    Free plan allows blocking three countries only, which is fine. however, it does NOT tell you, you cannot block Russia, China and India...

    A premium monthly upgrade is required to block the one country everyone needs to block, yet I can choose up to 3? Total scam. Ripoff! Ridiculous

    Not Happy

    Not happy. I am/was receiving more hits from country's that were suppose to be blocked than before I installed this program. The tech I spoke with via chat only said it was because of WIX. Don't need any more headaches.

    False advertising money grabbers.

    They advertise the app to have a free plan, the free plan advertises that you can block 3 countries for free, but then when you go to block the countries, a portion of them are suddenly premium only, of which they've strategically placed countries that would be blocked the most, like Russia, as premium only. Deleting the app.

    There are only free countries they allow to be free . So this is a misleading advertisement. It can be the best app in the world, but if you are already misleading in your advertisement. You are a part of the problem we all are trying to avoid.

    It does not hide the site on the first seconds. There is about 4 seconds until the site goes blank. So the app kinda does not work as it should.

    Your app doesn't work, it makes a feeble attemp to block ip or countries but the visitor can and does get around it and even able to use my contact form. What a joke! wasn't worth the money I spent! I turned off auto renew and won;t be renewing!

    Free plan supposed to be for 3 countries. But try China, and suddenly you have to pay.

    False Claims

    This app claims to offer 3 countries blocked on the free plan. This is a distortion of the truth: the accurate statement would be '3 out of a limited list that we have chosen'. As a result, if you want to trial this product with one or two countries that are causing you an issue, you can only do so by purchasing the premium product. This is not clear in their marketing. Untrustworthy. Opportunity for honest software engineer to produce an ethical rival to this app.

    They advertise that you can use it on 3 countries for free, Once you try to use it, the 3 countries of concern are a "premium" feature. Dont lie to people, be upfront.

    Makes your pages unable to be indexed

    Although it worked for blocking countries, it also adds a "noindex" tag to all your pages. Tried contacting support and was given no assistance. Cant seem to get my subscription canceled either.

    Country Blocker doesn't work

    From Day one I've found numerous bugs. Support Team is very ignorant to issues discovered. Country Blocker doesn't work, if it does work it's very slow, Traffic Analytics doesn't show traffic from blocked countries even if they pass through. Support Takes 2 days to respond. I've notified WIX Support of the shady app, and their support blocked me once I exposed them.

    DOES NOT WORK

    I paid for the upgraded version. Testing it with a VPN from a forbidden country... the page appears and is finally redirected towards a 404 page with a lot of delay that allows screenshots to be done. The url contains the word block that raises suspicion. Worse, when you come back to the former page (meaning before the 404), you gets the whole page fully stable. This app is absolutely useless. I asked for a refund.

    Support

    SPAM filter was adjusted to allow SPAM thru, and calls come rolling in. Disgusting that it don't woke properly. Good grief I'm on my last year with this app. Getting rid of it. Too many issues & NO SUPPORT. For 3 days I been getting a message "We are upgrading our servers... we'll be back shortly! (contact support@effectify.co if needed)". No reply at all when I contact support. Can't even send a message thru support. Update: The app seems to be blocking all IP addresses and I may need to reinstall. I just don't know if I'll have to pay again to do that. Ugh. You'll need to purchase the upgrade BUT it stops site spam visitors and them accessing your email & phone number to flood you with spam emails & calls.

    You get almost nothing

    The free plan doesn't give you most of the features and the features you do get, are basically useless. I would recommend Blockify Fraud IP Blocker for blocking the ip's and countries you don't want for free unlimited instead of this one.

    Page doesn't even load

    I added this app to my site months ago, forgot it was even installed. It never even opens. Keeps saying incomplete setup but the page is blank. Was looking forward to having this app keep out the spammers b/c there's no other apps offered with wix. 😒 I have reached out to customer service, but no response yet. If they can get this fixed and it works, I will update this review.

    They want to know all your information, plus you need to disable the cookies in your browser to use it. I do not recommend this app.

    Quite basic for free but better than nothing

    Use to wordpress, so this paid app is quite limited in its free state - where wordpress there are dozens and dozens of free options that do this. I dont agree with the price for country blocking, should be allowed in free version to block as many as we want. Hoping for cloudflare or some other integration with wix to allow this type of filtering for free. I wish this was priced better, ideally a one time fee would be even better. 4/5 because its the only free option.

I was very sorry to see that you have left us a 1-star review without contacting us first and asking about your problem - we have an almost 24/7 live support in the chat. We have tried to reach you via email but never heard back. Regarding your problem - you are on the free Blocky plan, which is not including Blocky's Visitors Analytics feature. The Visitors Analytics feature is the most accurate way to see blocked and passed sessions in your site. Other analytics apps, especially Wix's Ascend (chat) - are highly inaccurate and consider blocked sessions to be regular ones! Therefore, the visit logs you are seeing are "false-positives". Let me further explain: Although Blocky is blocking the visitors, Apps like Wix Analytics, Wix Ascend (Chat), Six and Google Analytics still consider them to be visitors, as although they were blocked - they still remained in your site (but all they can see is the blocked page).     Does Not Work

    We contacted support, but did not receive a response. This app does nothing!. Within 30mins we had more visitors from the areas there were supposed to be blocked, and we continue to get those visitor. They are also using our contact forms, so it is pretty obvious. Don't waste your time with this one.

    Horrible gaslighting company.

    Installed for user IP blocking, but cannot even test with free version since you /must/ upgrade to use this feature. EDIT: My reply to the Effective Team's previous response: 1) Yes. I am wanting to hurt your reputation. You need to be honest with customers and not attempt to gaslight them into thinking you're on their side. 2) There is NO mention of any trial in the Overview, so don't give me any of that nonsense. (See attached screenshot) 3) Even if you did contact me via email (I checked all spam folders and found nothing) I have no obligation to respond to you. Again, horrible gaslighting tactics. 4) Regardless of a 'trial' or not, if you have a free version of your app, all features should be able to be tested, or none at all.
