Error, but helpful support
In spite of not wanting non-subscribed people from Wix to come over into Mailchimp when the integration was first set up, we got a few hundred of them that leaked across slowly over a couple days. It was easy to get customer support, and Sher suggested a fix that I will implement if the problem comes back. For now it seems to be ok.

Helpful support, but a real integration gap
Cyrus was responsive, patient, and walked me through the options clearly (Predictive Segmentation vs. Automated Journeys) without rushing me into a decision. He gave concrete, actionable steps for setting up a tagging automation and pointed me to useful documentation afterward. The one real limitation: the Wix-Mailchimp integration does not natively map product categories to Mailchimp tags. I wanted contacts synced from Wix to be auto-tagged by what product category they purchased (e.g. worksheets vs. other products), and Cyrus confirmed this isn't possible out of the box — you can only trigger a generic tag on "purchased any/specific product," not by category. For a store with multiple product types, this is a meaningful gap since it means manually building a separate automation per product rather than one rule that reads category data directly. Support was good; the underlying integration capability is more limited than I expected going in.

Good App Integration
The MailChimp app integration is good, it has some quirks which is to be expected when working cross-platform. Overall it is working as needed but could do with a bit more customisation. I will note I am using a free plan, so the experience matches my expectations. The best part of the experience is the customer service. Lance was very helpful guiding me through the set up when things were not working quite as expected, and has solved the issue I was experiencing.

Help with Meta pixel
Mary was very responsive and patient in helping me sort through issues related to Meta pixel. Her help was very much appreciated since help was not readily available via Meta itself.

Solid support from Rhedd
Rhedd was extremely patient and supportive. If it were just him I'd give 5 stars, but I still find the connection between Mailchimp and other platforms to be confusing and seemingly unnecessarily complex. But maybe that's just me. Anyway, Rhedd was great!

Not bad once I figured it out
It took a while to figure out how to make this integration work, but I really appreciate that it adds people to my MailChimp contacts as soon as they sign up for an event on Wix. The one drawback is that it automatically marks contacts as Non-subscribed (including contacts which were already in MailChimp), which means you have to go into each contact's profile and change that setting before you can send them a MailChimp campaign or email. The integration loses a star for that. That said, Dean in Customer Care walked me through exactly what I had to do. If I were rating him, he would get 10 stars.

It just takes time
Mailchimp does the job. It just takes tome to acclimate to the many menu options, etc. Thanks to RAFF from Wix for ensuring my connection was made.
