SafeRates: USPS Shipping Rates

Real-time USPS shipping rates in your checkout, with no carrier account to open or configure. Each quote is calculated from the address and the weights checkout sends, so the shipping rates a shopper sees are the ones USPS returns for that cart. Setup is automatic: at install SafeRates fills your ship-from ZIP from your site's business address, and one click turns it on for your US shipping region. You can also turn it on in your site's shipping settings. Until it is on, checkout never asks for a shipping rate. If your store already has a free or flat shipping rule, that rule stays available and can be selected first. Turn it off or limit it if you want customers to see only the live USPS shipping rates. Every quote returns up to three USPS services, each with a delivery estimate beside its price, and an optional handling fee is included in what shoppers see. A default weight and a backup flat rate are optional: without one, a cart with a weightless product gets no option; the backup rate keeps one on screen when the live feed fails. Overview lists every rate request with its result, response time and default-weight use. SafeRates returns USPS services only. It does not connect your carrier account, include negotiated discounts, buy labels, or handle international shipping.
