iMessage

The app adds an iMessage contact button to the store, so shoppers can start a conversation from Apple's own messaging app. Because the thread lives on the customer's device rather than in a session on the site, a reply written later still reaches them, and a visitor who leaves before buying can be answered once a merchant is back at their desk. Conversations appear wherever the shopper uses iMessage, including iPhone, iPad and Mac. A message sent in response arrives in an app they already check, which gives them a familiar way to return to the store if they decide to continue. Up to ten managers can be listed, each with a name, a role and the hours they are available, so a visitor is able to pick the person whose area matches their question. The button is offered in four styles, accepts any colour, and can be placed in different positions on the page.
