About this App

Professionally designed from the ground up to display short testimonials/texts/quotes/tips in an engaging and non-intrusive manner to your site's visitors, to build trust in your community. Our rationale: (1) The 140 characters limit is there by design, and for a reason: User Experience studies show that short texts are more likely to be consumed than longer content (this is a far less trivial fact than it sounds). (2) Web usage studies related to the "bounce rate" of new site visitors show: every second they spend in your site counts. (3) Web usage studies related to the design of content show: better to have a visually engaging content, but "not too intrusive" (e.g. a delicate "fade" effect vs. flashing lights). The Testimonials App leverages on all above studies in a careful attempt to tempt the new visitors to your site to stay there just a bit more, and while at it get a feeling on what the existing user base (the ones who wrote the testimonials, for example) think about your product. Hopefully, your testimonials will convey a feeling of trust to those new visitors, and -- after all -- trust is what it's all about.

    Doesn't Work!

    I put in two testimonials and each time they transitioned the old photos flashed on the screen and I cannot figure out why. Also, when I put my own color in, the old color can be seen behind it and the free options didn't work properly either so I just gave up.

Feel free to send an email instead of in here (as here is primarily meant for reviews of the app, and not for support questions). To your question - in the Premium (paid) version, you may allow your users to "Contribute their own" testimonial (would gladly send you a screenshot over email so that you see how it looks like). Keep in mind, though, that you'll still have to approve those user-generated testimonials MANUALLY. That is, even in the Premium version, those users' reviews will NOT be automatically displayed at your site -- after all, nobody would want a spammer / competitor to write hateful reviews/testimonials on their site/product, right?     Incredibly basic

    Why this app requires a subscription I don't know. The app is basic and should be included in the basic features of WIX; by no means be paid for.

      Dear @stamp3, we're here at support@kewool.com if you'd like to hear more about the app. The app does not belong to Wix. In fact, prior to this app, Wix never had any Testimonials feature! The app's creators (kewool.com) realized this *basic* need, and created such feature. Let me reiterate -- this app is the first and original Testimonials app in Wix. (others have later copied it, and even totally changed their model to match our design and business) So, to answer your question -- this app does *not* belong to Wix itself, but to an independent small business (kewool.com). If you'd like to support that small business, you may pay the subscription fee. Please reconsider such reviews in the future, as they downgrade the overall rating of the app and by that -- hurt the small business.       Indeed, the app is not free. It has a free version with no time limit, but with limit on some of the features (e.g. at most 2 testimonials at a widget in the free version). The free version is therefore usually used by users to learn about the features of the app, calmly and without any time limit, until they feel secure enough to either support us by paying for the premium version, or proceeding to try other alternatives (most of our users actually remain with the free version). This business model is by no means new to this app. It is a common practice.

    Ridiculous app

    A testimonials app that allows only 2 items for the free version. This is not a free app it is a cheeky paid one.

Indeed, this is *not* a free app. One of the distinguishing factors between the free and premium versions of that app is the limit on the number of testimonials (if you believe this limitation was not clear in any way, please let us know).     Not working

    My site in editor mode is all set up but the testimonial just shows as the generic ones on live site???

      As with any other modification in the Wix Editor, you need to both Save AND "Publish" so that your changes / additions will show up on the live site... any issues with the Wix Editor / things appearing or not appearing in live vs. edited site are not related to any single App...     Bit pricey and slightly buggy

    If you want more than two testimonials, which, let's face it, you probably do, you need to pay. For a simple enough app that seems like quite a lot per month. Anyway, that said it looks good and has reasonable functionality/editability. A couple of bugs I found are when using a rectangular pic, it misaligns the circles. Also, if you have text spanning four lines, you might find that fourth line missing in the mobile version.
