Dear Wix Team, I would like to express that I am very dissatisfied with the current display options in Wix Groups. At the moment, posts in a Wix Group only appear vertically, one under another. Why is it not possible to display the posts in a list-like or horizontal layout, where users could move through them sideways using an arrow? Why does browsing posts only work by scrolling downward? It would be much more practical and user-friendly if Wix Groups offered more layout options, for example a horizontal post list, a carousel/slider view with arrows, or a card-style layout. The current vertical-only layout is limiting and does not fit every website design, especially for business websites. Please consider adding more flexible post layout options to Wix Groups. Forum was better

It's like there's a conference room full of idiots all making bad decisions. Seriously, you had forums and it worked, and you decided to get rid of it. It was a stupid decision.

Einfach nur Schade..... Finde die Übersicht und etwas zu finden zu Schwierig. Die Suche ist auch etwas schwierig in solchen "Gruppen" statt Foren? Und wieso sollte sich jetzt jeder Anmelden??????? Die Übersicht über die verschiedenen "Gruppen" ist nicht so schön und einfach gegliedert wie bei dem alten Forum. Es musste wohl einfach mehr "wow" sein und weniger "know how". Wir sind keine Fitness-Coach oder Tanzschule. Wir teilten im Forum wissen und wollen damit nicht mehr Geld verdienen. Von mir aus ist das Tool nicht fertig und nur auf Geld machen ausgelegt. Entweder ist das Tool nicht fertig oder man sollte das normale Forum für die "Normalen" Nutzer wieder einschalten. Dieses Tool mag für einigen Nutzern gut sein, für mich nicht. Ach ja, bezahlen muss ich es trotzdem, habe aber Leistungsabbau - fast wie in der Politik.

Wix Forum era molto meglio di Wix Gruppi!

In Wix Gruppi non si può spostare un post da un gruppo all'altro mentre in Wix Forum era possibile spostare il post da una categoria all'altra. Così il sistema di condivisione contenuti è molto più rigido! Inoltre in Wix Forum ogni post aveva la sua URL con il proprio titolo mentre in Wix Gruppi sono solo stringhe alfanumeriche e quindi le url non sono esplicite. Metto 1 stella perchè non posso mettere 0! Ripristinate Wix Forum!!!!

Bring Back the Forums Function Permanently, this is crap.

This does not function at all as a replacement of Forums as WIX keeps pushing it to be. It's an idiotic replacement of what was one of wix's best features for members.

Not good enough

As a community website owner, and not a business, wix groups are simply not an adequate substitute for the forums. Forums are the cornerstone of communities, specifically gaming communities, and wix appears to have forgotten that not all their customers are businesses who wish to monetise everything. Wix groups is in no way helpful for community websites, and if features are added to make it more like a forum, such as greater customisation (because customisation is currently minimal by comparison, the ability to assign roles to members, you have to ask the question, well why not just keep the forums? Unless phasing out the forums is a decision that will be reversed, I will be another customer that leaves to find a provider that gives communities what they need.

Wix Groups is a total disappointment

Wix Groups is a total disappointment. They replaced a perfectly fine forum with a completely useless tool. The builder feels outdated both technically and visually, the interface is clunky, and everything works inconsistently. Every time you use the editor or CMS, it feels like going back to the early 2000s. The blocks are irrelevant, the services are buggy, and there’s practically no customer support. Wix does whatever it wants without caring about users or website owners. All their replies are the same copy-paste “thank you for your feedback” nonsense. Worst website builder and platform ever. Luckily, we’ve already started moving our site to another provider — we’re done with this slow and unstable mess. WIX — you’re the worst! If you actually read user reviews, try responding with something other than your standard template.

why gruop?

I don’t understand why the bulletin board was removed and we can only use groups. It’s really inconvenient. We need a bulletin board. We don’t need a feed-style format. We need a bulletin board-style app.

This App is not working from past 18 days

The app is not working and my users are not able to create post. And sadly the support team has made the situation worse by not giving a proper Resolution ETA. I am still waiting for a response.

Being forced to use this over the Old Forum is horrible

This was a huge mistake. The Groups do not have the same customization options the forum had (not even a banner option for the main groups page, really?). Additionally, now I have to manually approve my paying members to access paid member private "groups" when the forum automatically gave them access to certain locked categories based on a paid member badge.

I prefer forum

Forum is better and more suitable for my website.

Confusing and unstructured

This is absolutely underwhelming. The group navigation and display of posts is sheer chaos. At least allow for a traditional forum layout with orderly lists of posts for each group. I don't need half the post displayed in the discussion tab. Speaking of, the tab function is pretty redundant. I can't even delete a created tab or add specific posts to it. Don't understand why everything has to be modernised just for the sake of it. Any classic forum appearance is easier to navigate through, and the term "groups" itself in breadcrumbs etc. is kind of unoriginal too. Not a fan at all.

Crap is a nice word for Groups...

This is so bad... so very very bad. I gave it my best shot at making the transition happen, but it's an absolute train wreck of a little app. It's a tragedy that Wix is screwing all of its loyal members by taking away a major function of their website. For years, I have been paying them top dollar for a premium membership, and I have invested years of time and effort into my little retirement blog, which includes a forum, only to have Wix screw me after years of loyalty. This group's thing is SO bad that I'd avoid it at all costs. I wouldn't even give it a single star... A Wix representative told me that the reason they decided to discard forums is because it no longer aligns with modern standards (but the Groups app does?? Seriously? wow... ). Please reconsider what you're doing, Wix. This is a particularly poor decision for many of us who have been your client for years.

this is really a horrible replacement for wix forum app. you seemingly can not add subforums, it has to be tabs on the top menu. this is shit.

TRASH APP!!!

The decision to remove the forums is the worst. Who the hell came up with such a stupid idea? This stupid decision has caused me to waste time looking for another vendor that offers the same functionality as the forum. Members should be able to post freely on the forums without having to register separately. Groups are extremely inconvenient and a crappy app. I'm really surprised at the wix admins for making such a stupid decision. Fire that stupid employee who deleted the forum and forced the move to a group immediately!!!!

Badly thought out & implemented Forum replacement no one asked for.

They dropped the Forum app for this?????????? No management of Groups (you could drag and place the Forum rooms), posts open up white background black text when our site is white text on black background, so when you publish you get black on black, migrate anything bigger than a few hundred posts and it takes 8 days of tooing and froing to complete, the share links are lots of gobbled numbers and letters (rather than the title text in a Forum post). Do NOT touch this until they have properly tested it. If I could give it ZERO stars I would. Update: 3rd November. Well, I didn't think Groups could be made worse but WIX have managed it. A so-called Community Engagement and Builder tool that doesn't even notify you that someone is commenting on your post unless you manual refresh EVERY SINGLE TIME. An absolute disgrace. We're voting with our feet. Goodbye WIX.

Need a forum, not a community Groups app. Forcing people to switch is a joke. Really, who makes these decisions??

Why? Why? Why?

The conversion from Forum is less than perfect. I've spent hours and will spend many more figuring this out. I now have to spend unplanned time setting this up and explaining to users that they have to JOIN this stupid app and that Forum is going away. I'm NOT a happy camper.

groups app is replacing forum app

i needed a forum which is why i chose wix. the groups app has horrible layout and cheapens what i have built in forum. really disappointed.

UPDATE: There's no CMS option for Groups! Original (still applicable): I was forced by WIX to move my Forum to "Groups" to retain the content -- but they tell you NOTHING beforehand. So, I tested the changeover on one of my sites and it sent HUNDREDS of emails out to my members. Also, all Categories become Groups, instead of Categories, but the members who have already posted previously in a Category in my Forum do not get automatically added to each Group (formerly a Category), so I would have to manually add them in so they can see their previous content. Worst app ever.

Forum Was Much Better

Wix Groups is an far inferior version of Forum. The Forum was so easy to use because the feed was simple and included a lot of content at first glance, and people who are not yet members could browse and scan the content. Groups doesn't give this "master feed" to outsiders, and the only other solution is to click on individual Groups to see the content, but this is isolating and confusing, overly compartmentalized and confusing to an outsider. Even current Members have having difficulty using Groups and we're already receiving complaints. Overall, removing Forum was a blow to our site's functionality so now we have to re-think if we can even use Wix at all if they don't bring back the Forum. Please allow Forum to remain as it was!!

This is simply not functional and means I may have to all my business elsewhere as the Forum was integral to what I want to do and this app is no substitute. It's full of bugs and I can't make it work. Awful so far.

This is a horrendous alternative to Wix Forum

Wix Forum is being discontinued and we must migrate to Wix Groups, but it's nothing like Wix Forum. It's more like a social media site and it doesn't work in the same way, nor can it be customised to look like a forum. Why are you forcing us to do this? What a disaster.

A step backwards

The older Forums app had the ability to approve posts before they are published, something we need for our site due to inappropriate posts by some users. The fact that Groups does not offer this is a big step backwards, and will require us to find another solution!

the issue is wide options availability to group members like upload videos, files, create buttons etc. and user restrictions to only chat is not available. It should be customizable.

Less Customization option

It's time to update Wix groups. We should have option to increase width of the elements and icon uploading options. Currently I see width is 1200px.

Wix Groups an invitation to AWB (Another Wix Bug)

Wix Groups will at some point change the Group page (the individual group page) to a Groups page (multiple group listed). You and your group members will not be able to access a Group because the page (Group) is now (Groups). The help page will tell you to delete the Group app and reinstall it. Wix will not fix the issue. Instead they will redirect your inquiries and say that someone is looking into the issue. It will never get solved. Wix won't fix AWB - another wix bug. The members app will do the same thing, all wix groups have bugs. And the inept customer service will do nothing but waste your time.
