Wix Portfolio

Wix team brings more updates to Wix Portfolio.

ATTENTION WIX TEAM, the app is actually good, but it needs some URGENT features to replace Wix Photo Album. Wix Portfolio needs to have the option for people to download media separately, and it also needs to have the option to import other files such as PDF, for example. It also needs to have the option to automatically watermark files, just like it was in the photo album. Please bring these updates. I used to use the photo album, but due to a problem with your system I no longer have access to it and this has affected my service to my clients. This has left me very disappointed because there is no app like the photo album. The closest thing is Wix Portfolio, but it needs the updates I mentioned above. If it doesn't happen, I'm thinking of removing my website from Wix.

Frustrating but i might persevere. Some questions / tips...

I get the layout needs to be standardised as a compromise versus doing all this from scratch. But while this app evolves some notes... 1. better explain the hierarchy of 3 layers - I created a mystery page I could not find in the pages navigation ( turns out this is the "Collections" 'layer' not a named page ) but which i could force into the menu bar using the "add menu item" and figure out a URL <website/portfolio-collections/collection-name> Or you can just embed as a collection gallery which is kinda cool ... if you know where to look (My Business / Wix Portfolio / Add Featured Collections Gallery) 2. maybe add a standard button to get out of a project back to the "collection" or "collections" level. Esp as you cannot launch into the project as a new window... ...to fix this I realised you can add a section above the "project pages" but not easy to do if you have headers turned off (you can add a section below then move it up) Frustrating - but I might persevere!

Great! A few things to consider...

Love how easy it is to manage the work on here. I wish you could add links or bold text in the project description. Also, I REALLY wish I could add "sections" of text in between images to give my design projects context and explain things and the process. Also, with video that are set in auto-play, sometimes when both videos are in the viewport, only one can play at a time. Thank you!

Please Advise

Overall the site works fine for my work. I have one huge issue that hopefully you can help to resolve. When you scroll over the images on the homepage they zoom-in. I can't seem to turn that function off. Can someone please advise?

I don't want collections

I can't get rid of the collections. I want people to be able to click Portfolio and then it just lists all of my projects...no collections

cant get certain features to work

The AI feture that allows you to upload photos and it creates a title and discription for you does not seem to work anymore. it worked once but i decided to delete and redo but its no longer an option

when it works its pretty good

when it works it's pretty good, besides the lack of customization. but for me I get an error every once in a while where suddenly the portfolio page is all greyed out and over my homepage. If I delete it, the whole layout is deleted and I cannot connect it to the dashboard again so I have to delete the app and install it again and start from scratch. very frustrating but fixable.

Extremely frustrating to work with. Almost no customization whatsoever and looks super generic. Might be a skill issue, but if that's the case then the app is not userfriendly. it works fine, but not the way i want it to. it does not show up in the "add elements/item" bar, and i am unable to show the projects without the collection. I would love to just choose to show my projects. I dont want a portfolio "page" I want a section with my projects that i can customize - and after countless tutorials and guides - I still do not understand how to make the app do what i want it to do. I am disappointed, confused and tired.

Gets the job done, lacks some flexibility

Image file name shows on expanded rendering from project page

The app works pretty good but after I have done all this work to get the look I want, it has an error of showing the image file name on the expanded rending of portfolio project pages. Also, I thought it was cool to connect to Google Photo Albums but one would think logically that I can select from those Google Photo Album pictures (projects in Wix Portfolio) but no, not display every photo in an album. A professional photographer has many more pictures in a Google Photo album than want to display on the Wix Portfolio. Without that feature, it does not make much sense. I am waiting on a call back from Wix on the filename issue on the expanded rendering, which is a programming error.

PORTFOLIO & DATASET

Hello ! I tried portfolio to show all my client's projects, which are already in a created dataset, but it seems that I can't link the portfolio to a dataset... am I wrong? If this is the case, I have to enter my projects one by one in the portfolio, sorting them by categories (knowing that there are around thirty projects...) Thank you for your answer !

The page this app creates is good, but why am I limited to only have one portfolio page. The layout is versatile, but you cant use it more than once per site. Please change this Edit: The reply to my review did not address the issue, so I'll reiterate. The portfolio page this app creates can only be used once per site. You can only have one "Wix Portfolio", if you try to create more than one page using this app, you will just be redirected to the first one - I would like to have more than one, in my specific case for a Projects page and a Portfolio page

Good potential but unhappy on 1st day

At the very first start I was able to add 3 projects and they were working fine but as soon as I added a 4th project it completely stopped working and the whole app started showing 404 errors on live site. the technicians can't figure out what is wring, it's been nearly 24 hours now with an escalated message and still nothing. I tried uninstalling the app and re-installing but same problem. If this app starts working fine it deserves another 1-2 stars but it still needs work to improve. Also cover image should be allowed to be smaller not so massive and i couldn't figure out how to change gallery layout on the project itself either. Once it is sorted I will update review. Thx OK I fixed it when techs couldnt work things out...Basically do not change the URL SLUG when you edit each project. I changed them to give my website a better url but that screwed up the whole Portofilo so I went back and left everything as it was originally (/project-title-1 (2,3,4))
