Lourdeur et bugs

Absolument pas intuitif, très lourd à manipuler, et surtout un bug qui vient rendre le tout inutilisable 24h après l'installation, à moins de désinstaller et résinstaller l'application (ce qui revient à perdre toutes les données et donc les 4h de travail réalisés pour remplir les projets). Et bien évidemment, plus aucune assistance de la part de WIX à part un agent conversationnel IA qui ne sert à rien.

It Works Very Well — Not Perfect, But Very Good

I was skeptical about installing this app because of the reviews I read and its average star rating. But I still took the plunge—as any curious person would—and even though it has 6 bugs (that I was able to identify) and at least 2 design limitations, I managed to work around them and set up a portfolio that I believe turned out—by my high standards of excellence—perfect. I’m giving it 5 stars because, despite the bugs and limitations, I was able to achieve exactly the result I wanted. By the way, the app is responsive and 100% editable—I tested everything, and my mobile version also turned out spectacular.

It is complicated, unresponsive, unusable. I honestly would give it a half star, if possible.

This feature is extremely clunky and unintuitive. I had to start from scratch after giving this a shot.

Absolute Garbage

Once you get it to look good on web, it looks terrible for mobile. If you move one project page on mobile to get rid of the weird large gaps, it moves all the other project pages too. Nothing lines up. nothing looks good. Built by wix is a big ol skip it for me from now on.

Not That Intuitive to use

So I added portfolio app, it is installed, HOW DO I ADD ANOTHER PORTFOLIO SECTION other than the one that's already in the template. What was in the developers head when making things like this

Not good

Adds an unnecessary level that messes up the site structure - pages will not show on menu: Main Portfolio page, check. That is on the menu. It contains "covers" for each project (gallery). Check. BUT the app adds something it calls collections in between - rendering the project (gallery pages) invisible except when you're on them. You cannot delete the "collections". Don't need it at all - so why is it here? You cannot show the project/gallery pages as sub pages on the menu, or even see them on the site structure. I wish I knew this was going to happen before I put the work into building the gallery pages.

not customizable

All the templates are really awful for displaying artwork. There is huge space around everything that just looks awful and you can’t customize the templates enough to fix it. For some reason the text has to come before the picture so it really doesn’t work for a gallery (And the Wix Gallery is even worse). When you scroll through templates it doesn’t save the changes to font colours and types - so you have to do it all over again.

This is my first time really using wix, and I thought the portfolio option would be great for showing my work. I plugged in all my media and text just to find out that I couldn't edit any of the layout on the actual webpage?? Its so frustrating because the layout of the headers and descriptions look terrible but you can't do anything to move the position of the elements. I can't believe I put in all this effort just to have to change it or deal with the web design looking bad. I would not recommend using this app.

I want folders on my Gallery page and images in some of those folders and more folders within the others which would then contain images. Or more folders. Nope! Make some Collections and fill it with projects. That's all you get.

Wix team brings more updates to Wix Portfolio.

ATTENTION WIX TEAM, the app is actually good, but it needs some URGENT features to replace Wix Photo Album. Wix Portfolio needs to have the option for people to download media separately, and it also needs to have the option to import other files such as PDF, for example. It also needs to have the option to automatically watermark files, just like it was in the photo album. Please bring these updates. I used to use the photo album, but due to a problem with your system I no longer have access to it and this has affected my service to my clients. This has left me very disappointed because there is no app like the photo album. The closest thing is Wix Portfolio, but it needs the updates I mentioned above. If it doesn't happen, I'm thinking of removing my website from Wix.

Does not do what is advertised

I created a Wix website to use as a portfolio for my professional writing. During the setup process, Wix asked me several times what kind of portfolio I wanted to make and each time I selected "writing". It then pre-installed this Portfolio app onto my website which is ONLY compatible with images, not documents. Absolute waste of time.

Needs some updates!

We are a community organization and would like to let site visitors be able to download/save photos. It does not allow, and we've been trying to get customer support to fix this. Wix Pro Gallery doesn't work. So it's not an option for Wix Studio users.

Seamless but limited

I love the ease of this app but it's really limited in terms of customization. Most importantly for us, I want to be able to add an additional section that is also dynamic (a rotating gallery at the bottom of the page that highlights the process of the project). Please add this feature!!! Would be nice to be able to turn off design features from page-to-page, as well??

Creates confusion for website

The app creates too many clauses with website. It's not clear as to what it's supposed to do. It creates problems on other pages, in my case the home page, leaving a large gap of blank space. The layout designs need to be improved. The layout designs are too large and don't create space for description. Very cumbersome app to work with.

Cross-device inconsistency & unwanted portfolio project duplication

The spacing and alignments in the web and mobile editors are not synchronizing correctly. This discrepancy is causing significant layout issues as elements appear in incorrect locations on the mobile site compared to their placement in the desktop, and gaps are appearing on the mobile site that are not present in the desktop version. These inconsistencies are forcing me to constantly switch between editors and make manual adjustments, which is time-consuming and frustrating. In addition, when attempting to create new portfolio projects, I'm experiencing unwanted duplication. New projects are automatically populated with content from existing projects, deleting projects and starting fresh does not resolve the issue, as deleted files and old formatting are still being added to new projects. This problem is severely limiting my ability to create unique project entries efficiently while maintaining an accurate representation of my work.

I would love an option to create an additional portfolio page so I can showcase my work in a different way.

This app is very limited in terms of layouts and being able to edit sections , image display and text location.

Frustrating but i might persevere. Some questions / tips...

I get the layout needs to be standardised as a compromise versus doing all this from scratch. But while this app evolves some notes... 1. better explain the hierarchy of 3 layers - I created a mystery page I could not find in the pages navigation ( turns out this is the "Collections" 'layer' not a named page ) but which i could force into the menu bar using the "add menu item" and figure out a URL <website/portfolio-collections/collection-name> Or you can just embed as a collection gallery which is kinda cool ... if you know where to look (My Business / Wix Portfolio / Add Featured Collections Gallery) 2. maybe add a standard button to get out of a project back to the "collection" or "collections" level. Esp as you cannot launch into the project as a new window... ...to fix this I realised you can add a section above the "project pages" but not easy to do if you have headers turned off (you can add a section below then move it up) Frustrating - but I might persevere!

so confusing

Just when I thought I have a grasp on how it works, then something arises that makes me so confused again. I have 3 projects in my portfolio gallery ( example Project A,B,C) but when you click into the page, it'll only go into the page for Project A even if you click on Project B or C. I want to link them all to their own page but it wouldnt let me add any? its so confusing and nothing is helping

Not customisable. Bugs. No support.

Good: an easy to handle CMS for end clients. Currently the only way to have a projects collection with a video as project cover, or a gallery with mixed videos and images (please wake up to that, Wix). Bad: everything else. The layout options are extremely limited with hardly any editing possible to the presets. I can't move or resize elements on the preset pages, or change paragraph alignments. Wix often crashes while using the app. Bugs include changes not auto updated between the CMS and the site, crashes, and more. Update: I wrote to the portfolio team asking for support on a specific topic and was ignored. Not great, again.

Photos Too Big

Why are my photos coming out so large? I've uploaded them at a smaller size for protection, but the gallery is stretching them. I don't see a way to edit the sizing

The layout needs be a lot better, cannot modify the enough to my liking. Please fix this. The layout should be something we can center the text for. It has lot of bugs.

Seem Very Extra

As a designer who might be this app's largest user group, the function is very restricted. Not only the design part is limited not all projects can accept just one template. It would've been better if I could make my own template for the project and also still have the freedom to add other stuff like extra text, spacing, etc.

les liens bug entre eux et ne font pas de transfert adéquat pour les cellulaires, wix utilise directement l application il faut se mefier , j n avais pas vu avant de devoir tout refaire. il est plus rapide et efficace de tout faire sans l application vu la perte de temps a essayer de corriger les erreur qui se cré sans raisons
