Needs Notifications To Users For File Uploads

Please add notification functionality to the File Share app. I need to be able to let customers know that a new file is available for download.

No Longer Working on Cell Phones.

I've used this app for several years now but suddenly the documents are no longer accessible when on my phone, which many of my members use. I can still access them on my pc but documents need to be accessible when traveling. It'd be nice to be able to organize the files and folders too so the most important or frequently used folders with documents could be moved to the top, eliminating the need to scroll to find them. All the apps with regard to document viewing have glitches which is why I'm considering switching my organization's website to another platform. Everything seems very outdated on WIX.

functional but not pretty

This functions, but it is clunky and not pretty. Fine for an internal work environment, but for a quick way for a small business to share files with clients? It is quite frankly ugly. An ability to change the icons so things are easier to group together by sight would be a great start.

An improvement for thumbnails is needed

Please have the feature for thumbnailing include in Wix File Share. If possible, allow different sizes of thumbnails, especially for pictures / images.

Great app for PC, but lacks for tablet and mobile

While I think the app has great flexability, it only extents to PC use. If I were to want my website to be used on tablet or mobile phone, it doesn't scale down. It has a fixed size both as a whole and text-wise, which a lot of other apps has figured out to do. If this could be "fixed" I'd love the app!

Suggest to remove the "Files & Folders" link on the top

Suggest to remove the "Files & Folders" link on the top, that can avoid users to view something the site owner does not want to show. This is important to protect asset and privacy

Users can't do uploads

The file-share app would be amazing if only there was an option that allows regular users to also upload content. Sometimes you have visitors of an event that will not go so far as to create an acoount to share their pics or videos of the night...

Problems with app on website

Potentially very good. App is not shown corecctly on the website (Not working - contact the owner) Any help? Update 16.07.24 Still no change. Can´t open, update oder change anything.

Need Private Viewing/Uploading Option

I would like to have members privately upload images to the folders. I am trying to run a small print shop on top of my photography shoots and would like members to be able to upload their images so that I can print them. Some members might have more private images that they would not want other members to view. Please Please Please add a Admin only viewing option. Once that happens I'll come back and update to 5 Stars, Thank you!

there is nearly no personalization options. cannot disable/show upload buttons. cannot create custom rights. cannot display to everyone but disable clicking unless you are logged in. useless

No way to hide folders from certain users

It seems like there's not a good way to hide certain folders from not visible from certain user roles. There's a way to limit access to the folder without permissions but lacks the feature to "hide" certain folders.

The new folder and +file button doesn't work properly.

It works but could be improved

Ideally I'd like to be able to upload a file to a members page without other members seeing the folder or file. The permissions stop people seeing other members files but it's just not a great look.

It is prety good but there could be some finishing touches like so that it could have some comands..

Needs work

I want to share files with my customers. what I dont want is everything uploaded to be public from a user, so that other users can see what they've uploaded. The files-share section and files in accounts are weird. You cant get to file share folders from your account file section without clicking on favorites and then following a link, this is sort of backwards. It really needs work, More functionality/permissions settings. Isolating user uploads would be nice. So that only I can see them. If a user does not have permission to a folder or file he or she shouldn't see that folder or file. I will get tired of them asking permission every time they click on something they shouldn't have access too... That's just goofy.

Non public members download.

The app works fine, but for our organisation to use it. Members public profiles must remain private. Whilst still having the ability to download files. re post 21 Nov 2021 Members authorized to download shared file cant download file without making profile public. Is there any way i can change this in the app?

Needed but missing features

Hello - this app has been SO needed for such a long time in Wix. It's exciting it's here - but it's not complete. 1. Please add the ability to reorder the files after they've been loaded. 2. Please allow for the ability to upload from the Wix Owners app. Once those things are fixed - I'll be happy to leave 5 stars.

Please allow us to create multiple installs on a particular website. For example, on my site, I am tutoring multiple subjects. I have separate pages for each subject. I want File Share on each subject page with the relevant material, but Wix File Share can only be installed on one set page. Add a feature where if a site member has a particular role, and I have assigned a role to have permissions to access a particular folder, only the folders that the site member have access too will be visible. Hope this makes sense. There is no way to add permissions to a folder that is within a folder. For example, I have students and I teach many subjects. Within my Biology folder, students can only read the documents I upload. I want to have another folder within Biology called "Uploads" where students can upload documents only. ADD WIX FILE SHARE TO VELO API so we can code custom integrations using Velo. Is there someone specific within the File Share team I can email about my ideas?

File Image/Cover Images

Love the app and the organization, would be nice for viewers/users to view a thumbnail or a small gallery of images of a file their downloading if it contains something inside. For example, some gamers create worlds and would love to showcase a preview of what they might be getting inside for the user downloading it.

need more options

The file share app is nice however it would be nice to be able to create icon images of the files we are sharing to engage users to click on the file. Currently I need to create a separate page in Wix with icons that links to the file sharing app which shows all of my downloadable file options vs linking directly to the exact file. If this option were available that would be great.

Need to Allow Us to Only Allow Specific Members

While the option for limiting membership is available for files in the files permission section, it does not allow us to limit access to files sharing. All members have access to file sharing. For example, I only want site members to have access, not newsletter members or blog series members. Unfortunately, I cannot choose who has access.

It isn't easy to Add/Delete

I can only Add a File from the Site after it's in Preview, instead of Adding Files in Editor and blocking Adding ANYTHING on the site. And I have already set the Permissions to Admin only.

Great, but needs to be useable in the Spaces app.

I really like using File Share. My website is a large part of what my group does and we use the Spaces app. One thing we all find inconvenient is that File Share isn't available in Spaces app. Please make it where it can used in the app. That would be super handy.

App seems good to share files, but unfortunately it does not work to let visitors upload files only.

file names too less characters, increase number of characters for file names. search magnifier should be bigger and should able to add text box next to magnifier.

so i am using "File Share" and i have three different level of tiers that i offer. I give 25, 75 and 150 leads out to the three different tiers. Since i make each page i build private for Tier 1, Tier 2 & Tier 3 people then was going to use "file share for each back end members page. So like tier 1 people can access tier one page that i allow then they would be able to go in and download a file with 25 leads on it. Then i made a separate back end pages for tier 2 people and they were supposed to be ablen to go in and download their specific lead sheet. Though when i went to do that i no longer can open and second file share app... it only allows me to reopen my already used on ethat i use for tier 1 people. So this does not work for me. :( ANY IDEAS???

Satisfactory

Satisfactory at best. I can't rename my pdf files. When I try to do so many new tabs open to blank pages... coupled with slow loading times and the inability to have more than about 30 characters of text showing for the title of a document, I wish there was a better option available!

Folders that are not accessible to a member should be hidden.

The app is quite good, but some improvement should be implemented. Folders that are not accessible to a member should be hidden. My customers don't need to know existence of other customer's folder.

Please add Admin only view on files

I would like to have the option for admin only to view some uploaded files as some of those files would contain private information and I wouldn't want other members to see those files uploaded by other members.

I contacted support

It seems I needed to ensure that my users were part of the 'community' when they registered. And also I wasn't aware that the application created a new page. The Wix support team were good once they understood the issues I was facing. We will be putting this application though trials over the next few weeks / months and if it proves to be trouble free now that I have learned more about the correct configuration of it I will update my rating.

I can't delete file!

Even if I try to delete the file it won't get deleted! The file is created again!

Its ok needs improving

No security by folder or ability to have multiple instances with each having different group / roles. This means only way is to have multiple sites. This makes it quite a average app as security should be standard and allow us to restrict based on who the member is.

Too early to tell

My website is in its early stages and this file system seems to be working well so far but im curious how the sharing and follow will scale up. I would love if they added the ability to manage permissions for specific files so interns could view only select files.

Errors when creating folder or uploading file

I get error messages when trying to create a folder or uploading file, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, very annoying with all these bugs

Good but some obvious things seem to be missing

Its a social tool that allows your members to collaborate by sharing files into a central library so as long as that's exactly what you seek, its perfect. For me, there were a few obvious things missing. If I'm on the my files page in the members area and want to share a file, I can only do so by going first to the library (via a link) - which architecturally speaking is one extra, unnecessary click - I should be able to upload files and even create directories from the my files page (and it should map automatically to the library). It would be good if members could create groups (sub libraries with select members if you like) - this seems logical as I have Wix Groups loaded so I would expect the two apps to interact - a library for each group and the ability to link library files to posts by members in groups. Like I say, its ok, it does what it says on the tin but please add the bells and whistles as then you have an outstanding app!
